The 2005 Wisconsin Teachers of Local Culture (WTLC) annual conference will be held July 12-14 in Rhinelander, Wis. WTLC is a vibrant network of committed local culture educators that includes classroom teachers, administrators, museum educators, librarians, and cultural resource specialists.

The conference features a cultural tour of Rhinelander as well as skill-building workshops on interviewing, photography, and curriculum writing focused on inquiry-based teaching. Traditional artists, including felt-maker Joan Slock and La du Flambeau Ojibwe storyteller Nick Hockings, will present, along with Wisconsin folklorists.

Registration deadline is June 23. For more information, check out the WTLC conference website
