Society Crime and Safety

While residents of other Madison neighborhoods may have been considered the Greenbush a dangerous place, for the most part, “Bush” residents felt safe in their community. Shootings, bootlegging, and related turf wars within the Greenbush did not affect the majority of residents, who “self-policed” everyday activities.
