Financial support

The generosity of those interested in preserving and sharing community culture in the Upper Midwest is essential to building our success. Your financial contributions will support several initiatives that would not be possible through conventional state or federal funding sources. There are several ways to support public programming and research at the Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures.

Join the Friends of the Center ...

Friends of The Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures receive a semi-annual e-subscription to our newsletter and periodic electronic notices of cultural events in the Upper Midwest . Friends membership dues help pay for such projects as:

• Student Fellowships in Folklore Fieldwork
• Community Cultural Events
• Support for independent scholars
• Educational opportunities for elementary and secondary students
• Digitizing fieldwork for use in exhibits
• Regional cultural research
• Building and office maintenance

Membership categories:
Individual @ $30 year
K-12 educator @ $20 year
Family @ $50 year
Non-Profit organization @ $50 year
For-profit organization @ $100 year
Lifetime (Individual) @ $1000
Lifetime (Family) @ $1500

The Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures works closely with the University of Wisconsin Foundation to match donor interests with CSUMC projects. There are also deferred gifts such as bequests and other ways to remember The Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures for years to come. Collaborations and partnerships are key to the work of the Center. The Center seeks individual and corporate support to build its programs and networking efforts through an endowment that will sustain regional humanistic activities for years to come.

The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded us a grant to create this web presence and expand our cultural outreach throughout the Upper Midwest .
